Veganopolis: SF Green Festival - Fall 2011
Today, I went to my third Green Festival. It was the Green Festival’s 10th anniversary. Needless to say, I sampled many different (vegan) treats: from raw chocolate with maca to pili nuts to hemp seed butter on toast.
Anyways, here are some pictures (mostly of food stands) that I snapped during the festival. (Too busy sampling goodies to take too many though!)

The “Magic Bus”:

BTW- I thought it was cool that people who took public transit got in for free. That was to encourage people to opt for more eco-friendly means of transport. My free admission status was rock solid since I’m a student and a member of global exchange and I took BART (plus walked a blocks) to the event. I think bikers also got in for free. :)

Tofu tikka curry! Most of the food vendors were vegan and essentially all were at least vegetarian.

I overheard a random conversation between two women:
“Is that corn dog vegan?”
“Yes, it is! I KNOW. I haven’t had a corn dog in twenty years…”
Now I’M craving a corn dog.

Everyone at the Green festival was so nice and friendly. Must be all that chocolate, healthy foods, and pot.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there will be a festival next Spring. So I’ll have to wait till Fall 2012 for the next one. It’s OK. I’ve got enough vegan goodies to last me a while. I’m exhausted but I had a really great time.
